Just like with physical activity, specific, simultaneous, and repeated multisensory stimulation gradually trains the brain and body to process and respond to multisensory input more effectively through improved organization, leading to improved function in the world. The ILS helps improve brain-body skills for individuals across the lifespan with a variety of challenges, including:• Dynamic balance, proprioception• Auditory and visual processing• Gross and fine motor coordination • Memory, attention, and concentration• Emotional regulation• The Unyte iLS and Safe and Sound programs are Evidence-Based and requires Medical Certification
In the SOS Approach, the feeding problem is conceptualized as the tip of an iceberg. The child’s difficulties with eating and gaining weight is what everybody sees, but similar to an iceberg, it is what is under the water that crashes the boat. The SOS Approach to Feeding stands for Sequential-Oral-Sensory because these are the major components of the program. However, SOS also stands for Save Our Ship! In the SOS Approach to Feeding, we assess and address all of the underlying (“under the water”) causes of the feeding difficulties. SOS uses a transdisciplinary team (Pediatric Psychologists, Pediatricians, Occupational Therapists, Registered Dietitians, and Speech Pathologists/Therapists) to evaluate and treat the “whole child”. The SOS Approach to Feeding program is Evidence-Based and requires Medical Certification
DIR is the Developmental, Individual-differences, & Relationship-based model (pronounced saying each letter as an initialism: D.I.R.). It was developed by Dr. Stanley Greenspan to provide a foundational framework for understanding human development. It explains the critical role of social-emotional development starting at birth and continuing throughout the lifespan. It also provides a framework for understanding how each person individually perceives and interacts with the world differently. The model highlights the power of relationships and emotional connections to fuel development. Through a deep understanding of the "D" and the "I" we can use the "R" to promote healthy development and to help every child and person reach their fullest potential.
The essence of motivation is finding out what the natural interest of the child is, what they like they do. Don’t have any preconceived notions. Don’t think in terms of “rewards.” The stimulus/reward approach is a very limited approach, which was based on research done with animal, not human, models and doesn’t encompass empathy and development of thought, etc. The approach does work, to some degree, but it tends to keep the child in a rote, repetitive mode. When a child is “stimming,” think of it as an opportunity to identify motivation to deepen their engagement. Motivation is basically a good observer seeing what the child likes and building on this natural interest to help the child learn what he needs to learn. Thus, motivation is finding out what the child naturally enjoys doing and then building on that interest and motivation. - Dr. Stanley Greenspan, August 2007.
DIRFloortime has the strongest research of any intervention to support its effectiveness in improving the core challenges of autism (including relating, interacting, and communicating), while also improving parent-child relationships and decreasing caregiver stress.

The interventions needed are determined by an assessment, the Beckman Oral Motor Protocol, which uses assisted movement and stretch reflexes to quantify response to pressure and movement, range, strength, variety and control of movement for the lips cheeks, jaw, tongue and soft palate. The assessment is based on clinically defined functional parameters of minimal competence and does not require the cognitive participation of the individual. Because these components of movement are functional, not age specific, the protocol is useful with a wide range of ages (birth to geriatric) and diagnostic categories. The Beckman Oral Protocol is Evidence Based and requires Medical Certification
PROMPT, an acronym for PROMPTS for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets, is a multidimensional approach to speech production disorders has come to embrace not only the well-known physical-sensory aspects of motor performance, but also its cognitive-linguistic and social-emotional aspects. PROMPT is about integrating all domains and systems towards positive communication outcome. It may be used (with varying intensity and focus) with all speech production disorders from approximately 6 months of age onward. To achieve the best outcome with PROMPT it should not be thought of or used mainly to facilitate oral-motor skills, produce individual sounds/phonemes or as an articulation program but rather as a program to develop motor skill in the development of language for interaction. PROMPT intervention is Evidence-Based and requires Medical Certification
TOTs (Tethered Oral Tissues),is a term was coined by Kimberly Benkert, RDH, BSDH, MPH, COM®, FAADH, which later became a common term when Kevin Boyd, MS, DDS used the term at the International Association of Tongue Tie Professionals (IATP) at their annual conference in Quebec, Montreal Canada in October of 2014. TOTs is defined by Merkel-Walsh and Overland as “a congenital remnant(s) of tissue that may restrict movement and cause functional impact across the lifespan. TOTs are either too short, too tight, too thick and/or in an atypical location.” TOTS intervention is Evidence-Based
and requires Medical Certification
